Contents of the training

As a Structural Metal Fabricator (m/f/d) specializing in Construction Technology, we will teach you everything about metal and its processing. You will learn to weld, rivet, drill, cut, bend, screw, galvanize, clamp, and all other techniques necessary to produce metal structures for our construction sites. This often demands millimeter-precision work and a steady hand to ensure everything fits together perfectly in the end.

You will certainly not be bored, as the range of your workpieces and tasks is broad. In addition to components that directly feed into our prefabrication production and special constructions required for the assembly of prefabricated parts on construction sites, you will also produce stair railings, steel stairs, canopies, gates, garden fences, facade brackets, or even a coat rack for an office building. For some of these parts, you will then go to the construction site to install your work there.
A technical drawing will always serve as your guide, meaning that in addition to your manual dexterity, spatial reasoning and some ingenuity are also required.

Duration and procedure

The training to become a Structural Metal Fabricator (m/f/d) lasts a total of 3.5 years. As this is a dual vocational training program, you will attend vocational school on some weekdays in addition to your work in the company. There, you will learn the necessary theory to complement your practical work, enabling you to become a true specialist.

The first truly important examination awaits you before the end of the second year of training. Here, you will complete the first part of your journeyman’s examination. The second part of the journeyman’s examination will then take place at the end of the training.
