Would you rather keep cramming theory or jump straight into practice? This is often the big question facing school leavers. If you feel the same way, then our Dual Study Program Civil Engineer / Bricklayer (m/f/d) could be exactly right for you.
In this dual study program, you simultaneously complete a full bricklayer apprenticeship and a Bachelor’s degree as a Civil Engineer (m/f/d). This optimally links theory from the lecture hall with practical experience from the construction site. And because you actively contribute with us, you will receive a salary from us throughout the entire training period.

During your apprenticeship as a bricklayer (m/f/d), you will be involved in the construction of a building from groundbreaking to completion. This way, you will learn your trade from scratch, which will provide an enormous advantage later in your professional life. A particular benefit is our challenging construction projects: those who learn how paper mills, residential complexes, bridges, or shopping centers are built on-site will find planning and coordination significantly easier later as a civil engineer.
The study program provides you with the theoretical background. From technical mathematics to structural analysis, building materials science, building physics, and construction informatics, your curriculum is packed with everything you need to know as a civil engineer.

Duration and Structure

Depending on the university, the dual study program lasts 4.5 to 5 years. The structure and process of the program vary depending on your university.
At some universities, for example, you start with a pure apprenticeship year and attend an inter-company vocational school alongside it. In the second year, your studies (consisting of 7 semesters) also begin, meaning you are only with us for training during the semester breaks.
Other universities focus on parallel apprenticeship and studies from the outset. Here, you already spend one day a week in the lecture hall during your first year of apprenticeship.
In both models, your apprenticeship always concludes at the end of the third year. From then on, you can take the final apprenticeship examination. During your studies, you will always work at our company during the semester breaks.
